Ground water is among the Nation’s most precious natural resources. Measurements of water levels in wells provide the most fundamental indicator of the status of this resource and are critical to meaningful evaluations of the quantity and quality of ground water and its interaction with surface water. Next Sense Technologies made GWLR-01, Digital Ground Water Level Recorder Piezometer, is a data logger and submersible pressure transducer combination designed for remote monitoring and recording of water level or pore pressure data. The sensor is lowered into the well on a reinforced cable and submerged below the water. Once in place, the initial water pressure reading is synced with the current water level. The unit then monitors the water pressure for changes, and the pressure difference is converted to a change in water level. The entire unit is hermetically sealed to prevent any moisture from getting into the instruments circuitry. The instrument comes along with inbuilt memory and GPRS enabled web telemetry for remote communication of data. Optional rechargeable battery along with solar panel is also available for uninterrupted power even at remote places. The GWLR-01 is used for measuring water levels in bore wells, dams, open channels and lakes.

Weather monitoring is also important not just in defining present climate, but also for detecting changes in climate and providing the data to input into models which enable us to predict future changes in our environment. The demand for weather data, usually on an hourly or more frequent timescale, has increasingly been met by the development and widespread deployment of automatic weather stations. The NS-WMS-01, provides sophisticated monitoring and logging of essential weather conditions such as temperature, barometric pressure, wind direction, wind speed, rainfall, relative humidity and solar radiation etc. High accuracy sensors are used to serve the purpose. The microcontroller based weather station comes with inbuilt memory for logging of data for several months. Data can be retrieved easily through the USB port. It has GPRS enabled web telemetry for continuous and online transmission of weather data to any server. The instrument comes along with a rechargeable battery and solar panel for uninterrupted power supply. Application areas include agriculture, hydrology, ecology and meteorology.
